Eco-certification
Accommodations who want to become eco-certified by the Nordic Swan Ecolabel must meet the requirements for hotels, restaurant and conference facilities. The criteria for hotels, restaurants and conference facilities consist of a combination of mandatory requirements and point score requirements. The obligatory requirements must always be met. During the application process, Nordic Ecolabelling performs an on-site inspection to ensure adherence to the requirements. The Nordic Swan Ecolabels differentiates basic requirements, food requirements (not if a hotel only serves breakfast), guest rooms and pools (if the accommodation has a pool). Within the basic requirement an accommodation must comply with a few criteria. There are three limit values; energy, water and waste (which are compulsory and must always be fulfilled).
