Ecotourism Ireland is an organisation which was set up to stimulate the development of Ireland ecotourism country side. The label has been designed to guide visitor’s to choose promoters of ecotourism products and the experiences they have on offer. The label has been very much developed with this in mind, in order to ensure that the environmental impacts of approved ecotourism products are minimised. Guided wildlife tours, nature based training courses, instructed outdoor activity, food trails, archaeology tours, hill walking trips.

The EcoTourism Ireland standard performed the Greenest Choice, according to the staygreencheck methodology. All the accommodations EcoTourism Ireland will show the four hearts of sustainability.
EcoTourism Ireland is a GSTC ecolabel recognized since October 2012. The certification promotes a dedicated training and dynamic networking support to enterprises within the Irish Ecotourism Sector and offers an in-depth, comprehensive and practical approach to evaluation, training and audit.
EcoTourism Ireland works with three different ecolabel’s levels that has onsite audit: Gold – are at the forefront of the industry; Silver – are highly environmentally and socio-culturally responsible; Bronze – are somewhat low-impact and may incorporate several environmental and social issues in their operation. Training Award is for companies that experiences have had a 2nd-party desk assessment from Ecotourism Ireland, which verified that they have met the relevant criteria but no onsite assessment.
The Dolphin Hotel has been awarded EcoTourism Ireland Gold Award, the first award on an Irish island. This award recognises that the hotel Ecotourism approved experiences are highly environmentally and socio-culturally responsible.
