A lochside lodge, sitting on the northern shore of Loch Gairloch, with sea and mountain views and easy access to sandy beaches. Gairloch Sands Youth Hostel offers guests a range of comfortable private and shared rooms. None of the rooms are en-suite but ample shower and washroom facilities are available. Guests can opt for a breakfast of cereal, Scottish yogurt, fresh fruit, tea and coffee. Please note our well-equipped self-catering kitchen and lounge areas are currently closed due to Covid19 restrictions. The hostel is licensed so guests can enjoy a beer, malt whisky or glass of wine while relaxing in the cosy lounge with panoramic views over Gairloch, the Torridon hills, Skye Cullins and outer Hebrides. WiFi is free for all guests and other facilities include lockers, a laundry and a small drying room. Basic provisions, confectionery and soft drinks are available to purchase at reception and the nearest shop is only a five minute walk away. The hostel has onsite parking facilities for up to 13 cars. The hostel is also available for exclusive private rental.

Dogs are welcome at Gairloch Sands, for a small fee, when guests book a private room. Please notify us in advance to ensure there is a dog friendly room available. Individual reservations (Up to 9 persons) - can cancel free of charge until 3 days before the arrival date. If cancelled within the 3 days before the arrival 100 percent of the total price will be charged. Groups reservations (more than 9 persons) - different policies and additional supplements will apply. More than 8 weeks (57 days or more) 20% of total cost. 8 – 4 weeks (56- 29 days) 55% of total cost. 4 – 0 weeks (28 - 0 day) 100% of total cost. No stag or hen parties are permitted at any youth hostel. Should guests be entitled to a refund or part refund please note that these are processed by Hostelling Scotland National Office, Stirling. It may take 7 to 10 working days from the date of cancellation request for the refund to be processed back onto the original card used. From the age of 12 to 15 years, young people must be accompanied by a parent or guardian of the same gender when booking a bed within shared accommodation. Parties with children under 12 years will only be accommodated in private rooms, where available. Hostelling Scotland advise that additional notice be given to the destination youth hostel when travelling with children, to ensure that suitable accommodation is available. There is no capacity for extra beds or cots. The hostel is normally closed during the day between 10.00 and 17.00. Later arrival and access outside opening hours is by pre-arrangement only.
